What is your CERTENTIC Bridge user account?

When you register, a user account is created for you with CERTENTIC Bridge. This user account is separate from your Apple Account and from your account with the respective AI service.

Your CERTENTIC Bridge user account is used to manage your registration and the settings required for CERTENTIC Bridge. These include, in particular, your verified contact email address and the encrypted credentials used to connect to iCloud.

You can use the same CERTENTIC Bridge user account with multiple supported AI services. For example, you do not need to register with CERTENTIC Bridge again if you connect ChatGPT after previously connecting Claude.

How to activate CERTENTIC Bridge

To use CERTENTIC Bridge, you need:

  • an Apple Account with iCloud Mail and iCloud Calendar,
  • an app-specific password generated by Apple. Apple explains how to create an app-specific password here: Sign in to apps with your Apple Account using app-specific passwords,
  • a valid email address for your CERTENTIC Bridge user account, and
  • a supported AI service.

Two-factor authentication must be enabled for your Apple Account in order to create an app-specific password.

Your regular Apple Account password is not required by CERTENTIC and must not be entered.

1. Register with CERTENTIC Bridge

There are two ways to register with CERTENTIC Bridge:

a) Register directly through a supported AI service

Search for iCloudConnector by CERTENTIC in the connector or integration directory of your AI service and start the connection. You will automatically be redirected to CERTENTIC Bridge.

If you do not yet have a CERTENTIC Bridge user account, you can register during this connection process. Once registration is complete, you will return to the authorization process, where you can confirm the connection to the AI service.

The connection to this AI service is then already set up. You do not need to connect it again.

b) Register with CERTENTIC Bridge in advance

Alternatively, you can register before connecting an AI service by visiting the CERTENTIC Bridge homepage at https://connectors.certentic.com/.

After verifying your email address, enter the required information and your iCloud credentials. CERTENTIC Bridge then checks whether access to iCloud Mail and iCloud Calendar is working.

Once registration is complete, your CERTENTIC Bridge user account is ready to be connected to a supported AI service.

When you later select iCloudConnector by CERTENTIC in a supported AI service, you confirm your existing CERTENTIC Bridge user account and then authorize the connection.

2. Connect an AI service

If you registered with CERTENTIC Bridge directly through a supported AI service, the connection to that AI service is already established as part of the registration process. You do not need to set it up again.

The following steps are only required if you registered in advance directly with CERTENTIC Bridge at https://connectors.certentic.com/ or if you want to connect another supported AI service to your existing CERTENTIC Bridge user account.

Claude

In Claude, you can find the connector settings under Customize → Connectors.

Select iCloudConnector by CERTENTIC and start the connection. You will then be redirected to CERTENTIC Bridge. Confirm your existing CERTENTIC Bridge user account and authorize the connection to Claude.

Once the connection has been established, you can use iCloudConnector in a new chat.

For your first request, try:

What appointments do I have today?

The first time you use iCloudConnector, Claude will ask you to confirm that the connector may be used for your request. Confirm the request so that Claude can use CERTENTIC Bridge to access the information it needs from your iCloud Calendar.

Claude can then retrieve your appointments for today from your iCloud Calendar.

ChatGPT

In ChatGPT, connectors are managed as Apps. Open Settings → Apps and select iCloudConnector by CERTENTIC.

Start the connection. You will be redirected to CERTENTIC Bridge. Confirm your existing CERTENTIC Bridge user account and authorize the connection to ChatGPT.

Once the connection has been established, you can open a new chat and address iCloudConnector directly in your request.

For your first request, try:

@iCloudConnector What appointments do I have today?

The first time you use iCloudConnector, ChatGPT will ask you to confirm that the connector may be used for your request. Confirm the request so that ChatGPT can use CERTENTIC Bridge to access the information it needs from your iCloud Calendar.

ChatGPT can then retrieve your appointments for today from your iCloud Calendar.

3. Use CERTENTIC Bridge

Once the connection has been established, you can ask the AI service to retrieve information from your connected iCloud services.

Examples:

  • What appointments do I have tomorrow?
  • Search my emails for messages from Max Mustermann.
  • What appointments do I have in Berlin next week?
  • Find the latest email about my hotel booking.
  • Search my emails to find when and where I ordered my Pure Whey over the past twelve months, and how much I paid.

Based on your request, the AI service determines which CERTENTIC Bridge functions to use and how to process the information returned in its response.

CERTENTIC Bridge provides the technical connection to your iCloud data and sends the results required for your request to the AI service you have connected.

Other actions

Update your iCloud credentials

If you have revoked or changed your app-specific password with Apple, you can update the iCloud credentials stored with CERTENTIC Bridge using the account management function. To do so, visit https://connectors.certentic.com/.

After verifying your contact email address, you can enter new iCloud credentials.

You can create a new app-specific password in your Apple Account. Apple provides instructions here: Sign in to apps with your Apple Account using app-specific passwords.

Disconnect an AI service

The connection between a supported AI service and CERTENTIC Bridge is based on OAuth.

The OAuth permissions granted for a connection can be revoked using the functions provided by the respective AI service. Disconnecting an individual AI service does not automatically delete your CERTENTIC Bridge user account.

If you no longer wish to use CERTENTIC Bridge at all, you can also request the termination of your CERTENTIC Bridge user account using the account management function. To do so, visit https://connectors.certentic.com/.

Privacy and security

CERTENTIC Bridge does not permanently store content retrieved through the connector from iCloud Mail or iCloud Calendar. The data is retrieved for the specific request initiated by you and transmitted to the connected AI service.

Your iCloud credentials are stored in encrypted form. To connect to iCloud, CERTENTIC uses the app-specific password you provide.

Your regular Apple Account password is neither required nor requested by CERTENTIC.

CERTENTIC Bridge does not independently access your email or calendar data. During normal use of the service, your stored iCloud credentials are used when you use CERTENTIC Bridge through a connected AI service and thereby initiate a corresponding request.

For more information, please see our Privacy Policy.

Having trouble connecting?

In particular, check the following:

  • Is the Apple Account identifier you entered correct?
  • Are you using an app-specific password rather than your regular Apple Account password?
  • Is the app-specific password still valid with Apple?
  • Is two-factor authentication enabled for your Apple Account?
  • Are iCloud Mail and iCloud Calendar available for your Apple Account?

If you need a new app-specific password, you can find instructions from Apple.
